Summary Board Meeting - 16 September 2013

Here is a summary of the items discussed during the last EGATS Executive Board meeting:

Re-organization of training section

More work is being done in the training section to fine-tune the concept for MUAC. The basis was the DFS training concept in Karlsruhe, which seems to be working very well and provides a high pass rate of students. TUEM is involved in the discussion as well., especially to talk about the financial aspects.

INREP

Due to Ralf Hoelscher going on pension Marinella Leone took over INREP from him. We will schedule a meeting with her to further improve the new INREP. One idea is to give quicker feedback online, instead of the slow Safety Mirror.

OUTPUT

The deadline for articles for the winter edition of our OUTPUT magazine is 24.11.2013. If you would like to contribute, please approach one of the EB members already before that date, so we know how many pages we will receive.

Day of The Controller

Preparations for the international day of the controller started. More updates will follow shortly.

Our report to the IFATCA European Regional meeting has been finalized and is available online - see below.

MARC-MOSAIC

EGATS will together with TUEM host a MARC meeting at MUAC in May 2014.

vDFL

VDFL and other airspace projects: We had an information meeting about VDFL, which is planned to be introduced in the Hannover sectors the end of this year. The implementation in DECO and Brussels is foreseen, but at the moment the timeframe is unsure, due to the staffing situation in DECO and the Lux High implementation in Brussels. We would like to get involved as well in the other packages of MARS2, e.g. a weekend sectorization.

CA Elections

EGATS was approached to give input how often new CA’s shall be elected. Because it takes some time to learn how everything works the term should be at least 2-3 years. However it should not be until the CA steps down either, like it is at the moment.

Please contact us for any further questions.

Kind regards,

Your EGATS EB
